Chapter 1: Oliver's early life

   Oliver Twist was born in a workhouse. On his birth, there were three people: his mother, a nurse who was an old lady and nearly always drunk and the another was a busy local doctor. After Oliver was born, his mother kissed him and died. His mother was a good looking girl but no wedding ring and nobody knows where was she from, what is her name and where she will be gone...
   After that Oliver was sent into the baby farm that had 30 another children there. The person in charge was Mrs. Mann.

   On Oliver ninth birthday, Mr. Bumble came to the house to see Mrs. Mann and all the children. Mr. Bumble said that Oliver Twist was a name that he put for the boy by followed the alphabet. The last one was S-Swubble. Then it was T, so this is Twist. The next will be Unwin . Mr. Bumble  brought Oliver to the workhouse to work cos now he is old enough to work. The food in the workhouse is not enough, just only a bowl of thin soup, three time a day with a piece of bread on Sundays. The people served the food were a master and 2 other women. One evening, all the boys in the workhouse forced Oliver to ask for more food. Oliver was very scared, but must do that. After Oliver asked for more food, the master hit Oliver with the serving spoon and seized Oliver's arms and shouted for the beadle. Then took Oliver to the board.
   Oliver was led away to be locked up and a reward was offered to somebody who would take him away and use him for work.
